Frequently asked questions:

We make all frames ourselves in our own picture framing workshop, based in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, United Kingdom.

And we're not just saying that! We design and make everything ourselves. Our workshop equipment includes everything we need to make frames from scratch, fully bespoke. We have our own mount cutting machine, and the professional framing equipment for cutting and joining moulding to any custom size. Acrylics and other sheet products such as backing boards are cut on site too. Lastly, we carefully prepare the various holding methods which go inside the frames by hand with precision.

If you'd like anything unique making, just ask - we can do it.

Yes. Please contact us to request this before ordering, referencing the listing most similar to your idea. Then we can confirm if it is possible, provide instructions on how to order, and we will quote any cost difference (if required).

Absolutely, we do! Please contact us to explain your idea, then with our framing experience and versatile solutions we can help with suggestions and provide a quote.

- Almost all the frames we list are with our consistent range of real wood UK sourced moulding - and each listing will state the material type in the description. Typically we list the moulding dimensions and colour in the title or occasionally as a listing variation. We like to stock and use open grain (brushed) moulding for consistency, but we can use alternative finishes on request.

- We exclusively use acrylic as the front sheet, not glass. This is because acrylic has come a long way in recent years, and is safer, more lightweight, and nearly always more UV protective compared to similarly priced glass options. In many cases the acrylics we use are thicker than other cheaper 'styrene' products you may have seen elsewhere. It is very rare any customers have anything negative to say about our acrylic, and many compliment the quality offered particularly for larger frames which we use thicker acrylics (3mm+) for.

- Internally, we use 1400 micron mountboard which is from a specialist framing supply company and conservation grade (no acidic materials), then depending on the size of the frame, various backing board products such as MDF and corri-cor. For the display methods within the frame we use various foams and sleeve methods, often using permanent pre attached adhesive methods (out of sight against the back of the mount) such as glue and tape. Lastly, metal fixings are used for closing and hanging, such as flexi-tabs, with semi-permanent (long term) use in mind.

- Every frame we list includes the choice for you to select it be made using highly UV protective acrylic, often with our exact tested UVR percentage level. For listed frames where a choice is not given this is because the only option offered is considerably UV protective. We have our own UV testing machine, and we regularly test the filtering percentage levels of our sheet products for accuracy, often alongside our supplier's externally tested specs. Despite these efforts, long term light damage and fading from even just a 0.1% percentage exposure can accumulate and still pose a risk, and you should take care to responsibility display your collection away from direct sunlight, and conduct your own research/take other precautions, according to your location/circumstances and the value of your collection.

- We exclusively use one very reputable picture frame wholesale supplier for all our acrylic sheets, and each time we order a batch of acrylic we check a sheet per batch for quality/consistency, and test using our light transmission tool. This tool tests lower wavelengths which are the most harmful such as UVA and UVB. We can provide evidence of this testing machine on request, in use with timestamped photos.

Most orders are complete and sent within 3-5 days. However, this will vary based on how busy we are, and how large or bespoke the products ordered are. Due to the nature of our product, please allow additional time before chasing an order.

If you communicate your urgency to us, then most likely we can prioritise your order. Please see our contact page to request this, advising your 'receive by' date'.

Consistency is very important to us, and the majority of our designs have matured to a state where they will remain very consistent. However, occasionally framing materials do differ slightly between batches despite being the same code with our suppliers. If you are concerned/it has been a while since your previous order, you can contact us before ordering - and similarly we may contact you if we notice a returning order which raises a consistency concern of our own.

Generally, any changes are minor and will not be an issue, and almost always an improvement in those cases.

Our charges vary depending on the size of your order and your location. You can add an item to your cart and you will see a quoted shipping charge during checkout. There is also a cost range given per location on our shipping info page

- Naturally many collectors will want to sell their framed collections, and we like to see this, as it is not only free advertising and shows off our quality but also celebrates collecting achievements and inspires the community. However, we request the following rules be followed if reselling our frames:

- Avoid using the RIDANCO trademark name in any marketplace listings, as they may be reported and removed.

- Please take your own photos/ don't use our main nor any additional listing images.

- Take care to correctly and originally describe your frame with the specs it was made with at the time of your purchase, keeping in mind our equivalent suggested listing now may differ in specs to what you chose when buying it.

- Any business ventures/regular resellers who wish to resell our frames in any way should contact us beforehand to ensure there is no conflict of interest. We can also discuss how we can support your project with additional considerations such as special pricing, unbranded frames, plain cover packaging, and dropshipping. Talk to us, we don't bite.
