An update on duty charges to customers in the US
Starting August 29, 2025, the US is ending the de minimis exemption for low-value imports, meaning all goods entering the US, including those valued under $800, will be subject to duties and taxes. This change, implemented through an Executive Order, affects all countries, including the UK - Ridanco Displays is based in the UK.
Any US orders placed later than 15th August may in some cases not ship until after August 29th - especially orders of multiple or complex items. It is also possible that parcels shipped in the few days prior to 29th may not clear customs until after that date, and therefore may attract fees. Please understand that you, the customer, are responsible for any fees, so it is advisable to order as early as possible to avoid any import duty and fees being charged by the courier.
The courier (usually UPS) will charge you the taxes, duties and any fees prior to delivery. The amount will vary based on the value of the order, and what is being shipped. You may like to use an online import taxes and duty calculator - but please note that this may not include courier disbursement fees. When checking, please use 'wooden picture frame, obeche' as the description, 44141010 as the commodity code, and UK as the country of origin. Please note that the true charged amount by any courier will be slightly higher to courier fee and currency changes.
