Understanding Our PSA Holder Architecture

If you're unsure which framing option best suits your portfolio, the guide below breaks down the anatomy of a Ridanco slab display frame. From the protective materials we use to the precise machine cutting required to cradle a PSA case safely, read on to see how we transform stored plastic into striking interior decor.

Precision Framing for your PSA Slabs

Protecting and displaying authenticated investments requires more than a generic picture frame. Simply balancing slabs on a shelf exposes them with no protection against environmental hazards such as UV damage, and constantly handling them significantly increases the risk of scratching or cracking the acrylic cases.

At Ridanco Displays, we utilize specialized foam-core mounting cut precisely to the PSA slab size of a standard Professional Sports Authenticator slab and securely align this foam layer permanently fixed to a presentable front mount. This tailored recess at the appropriate size and depth prevents the plastic holders from sliding or tilting inside the frame. Crucially, our top mountboard is cut to perfectly frame both the card's artwork and the iconic red and white grading label, leaving no aesthetic detail hidden. All that precise mounting is then held securely by the rigid back panels of the frame, behind the clear acrylic glazing at the front.

The various sizes of PSA Graded Cards

At Ridanco Displays, we don't settle for anything less than perfection when it comes to our holder sizes. Fortunately, the vast majority of PSA graded cards are the same holder size - and you've likely noticed this when you stack your PSA slabs together during storage. This common size for regular TCG or thin sports cards is what we call the default PSA size (6mm deep holder), and across our website if we ever simply describe a graded card size option as 'PSA' then this default size option is what we are referring to.

Certain cards however may be the same viewable size and still stack with others, but are noticeably thicker - and here's where it gets less precise, as there are actually countless other depths of PSA slabs due to their bespoke deep slab holders which adjust (inflate) in depth to suit each deeper card, with a protective layer of plastic inside the PSA slab to protect those patch football cards or deeper metal Pokemon cards. At Ridanco, if you have any of these deeper slabs then we can still make frames for them, you just need to contact us first and tell us the measurements (depths) of any of those deeper slabs, and we can then make display mounts appropriately sized and use deeper frame moulding to suit the total depth. We can even provide hybrid PSA graded card mounts with removable plug pieces - so you can display a mix of standard PSA slabs and deeper ones, and have done this for many collectors over the years.

For collectors wanting to frame their PSA Boosters, at Ridanco Displays we have a trusted foam holder design which we can scale for the display of up to 30 PSA Graded Boosters, in any layout, colour and finish. We have many listings on the website for common options with the most popular black moulding, and you are welcome to contact us for a custom listing if you want anything unique.

Please note that our 'PSA Graded Boosters' default size applies to PSA's modern (current) booster holder size which we have tested and know well for graded TCG boosters such as Pokemon, Lorcana, Yu-Gi-Oh etc. There are also other older and unique PSA boosters sizes, for example certain sports packs or gummed packs. In our experience, some of those unique booster packs can be different in both viewable size and depth - and it is best to contact us for a custom quote for anything other than modern TCG booster slabs to ensure compatiblity.
